Letter A; The Activator

A story of Ox and Atom

Beloved, let’s arrive at our very first exploration. Today, we step into the essence of the letter A, pulling the threads of lineage to understand it deeper, more fuller, so we may then experience it with greater consciousness.

The letter A, aleph- in the Semitic traditions and alpha to the Greeks, originally rose from the Hebrew symbol for ox.

I’d like you to sit with that for a moment. The ox. What does that represent for you? What do you feel when you picture an ox in the field? Imagine yourself part of an ancient tribe, an ancient culture, what would be your relationship with the ox?

The ox, for Hebrews, was so poignant and fundamental to their survival, that it’s depiction, the A, was placed at the front of the alphabet, even though other letters had been conceived before it.

A, as the essential element to survival. A, as the source of nourishment, as that which carries the plough.

It’s quite a sublime offering, and as we look to the smallest, the most infinitesimal particles that shape all vibration and matter, the atom, we can begin to get a sense of just how powerful the letter is.

Indeed, in Abrahamic religions, Adam (atom?) was the first progeny.

Letter A carries the codes of activation. It is the actualisation, the alchemist, which draws creation from the void. It is Aries, the first sign the sun will touch in it’s twelve month procession. It is alert, and it is awake. It has arisen from the blanket of darkness and into the light. It asserts itself while others tend to be shy.

Beauty, if we look to this, the activator energy, how can it shape our lives? What is our relationship with activation? How do we reconcile the activation from the destruction?

Activation, the primal action of creation, requires something to be alchemised, to be transmuted. Sometimes it can be a pain, or clay, or soil that needs to be tilled. But what happens when our lives are good, but we wish to activate them into greatness?

This week, I’d love for you to explore your understanding of activation. When do you feel activation at its most powerful? When you see others activating, what is your response? Where can you offer more activation into your day, into your relationships, into your dreams?

Journal, ponder, muse. Allow this to swim through your cells and sink into your existence. Offer yourself moments to be active, and offer moments to reflect. And please, share your thoughts and realisations in the refectory, I’d love to hear how activation dances through your world.
